What matters most
Turn the system to OFF and leave the fan ON only if it can move air safely. Do not keep forcing the compressor to run while ice is present. Check whether the filter is heavily restricted and confirm that supply and return vents are open. A technician should verify airflow, temperature split, coil condition, blower operation and refrigerant performance before recommending a repair.
